2009 - May 22nd - Rocky Mountain Arsenal Landspout Tornado

Here's a brief video of the landspout today. The video contains some strong language. I was a bit surprised. Recommend watching in "high quality"

I would put more up, but my camera/computer are not cooperating.

Yeah! The one thing that drives me nuts about my phone is that it is hard to "break in" to the contacts menu. I had just done so when it rang, so I tried to answer it but ended up hanging up on whoever called. Then I had to repeat the process. Took me a good minute to dial the weather service. haha

Well, it wasn't too unexpected. Of all the days this week, that was the best chance for landspouts as the DCVZ was active and almost stationary. I certainly wasn't watching that area originally. However, it was under a developing Cb and I was watching a storm slowly approaching from the north. In the video, you can clearly see the outflow from the second storm push it and bend it near the surface. Kind of neat watching that interaction!
